Stock vessels
A wide range of chemicals are available. Most of these chemicals are stored in stock vessels, but some are also available
as larger lumps that can be handled individually.
Key points:
- Each vessel is labelled with its chemical formula. The full chemical name is displayed when you move the cursor over the vessel.
- No reactions can take place in stock vessels - their contents must first be added to a piece of glassware or apparatus.
- Stock vessels are 'bottomless', that is, they refill automatically when emptied.
- Each stock vessel has a maximum mass or volume. This depends on the nature of the chemical within the vessel. For example,
a powder jar can contain up to 1412 g of lead but only 337 g of aluminium.
- You can edit the volume, mass, concentration or granularity of the contents of a stock vessel directly.
